50th Come See Me Festival to swoop in with full force

With spring just around the corner, Rock Hill’s 50th annual Come See Me Festival is nearing.

The ten-day festival runes April 11-20 and is considered the largest all-volunteer festival in South Carolina and attracts more than 100,000 people.

Come See Me Board of Governors president Caroline Faircloth says the festival is one key to Rock Hill thriving, and to recruiting and retaining top talent.

This year’s festival kicks off with the Parade and includes signature events such as the Beach Bash, Teddy Bear Tea Party, the Mayor’s Frog Jump, Moonlight Jazz and the Tailgate Party.

2013 Festival Chair Erika Bell says this year people who turn out for the festival will see new twists on old favorites — starting with the parade.

Also Thursday, the festival’s 2013 Merit Award winners were announced: Dale Dove, Mary Beth Knapp, Manning Kimmel and Jane Rhodes Peeples. Kimmel is the Managing Partner of OTS Media, WRHI’s parent company.
