Rock Hill woman charged in lottery scratch-off scheme

A Rock Hill woman was arrested this weekend on embezzlement charges after authorities say she and an accomplice took more than $10,000 in scratch off tickets and winnings since November 2011.

Tinsel Alexander, 38, was arrested for Embezzlement Public Funds after the owner of a Cherry Road convenience store told police lottery officials told him he was selling more scratch off tickets than his records reflected.

The owner told police in October he reviewed surveillance footage of Alexander and another suspect stealing multiple tickets at a time, scratching them and collecting the winnings.
