S.C. Rep. Mulvaney not impressed with much of Obama’s speech

S.C. Representative Mick Mulvaney says he liked what President Obama had to say about immigration, trade and bringing U.S. Troops during his State of the Union Address Tuesday.

But the second-term Republican from Indian Land says that despite those three issues, he was disappointed with the rest of the speech. Mulvaney says Obama kills what he asks Congress to send him.

Mulvaney said if the president were to actually follow through with his proposals — they would become law.

Mulvaney says the State of the Union address was a political speech that will be followed by presidential visits to GOP-held districts where Democrats believe they can win in 2014.
