The move comes after the restaurant’s owners and landlord Piedmont Regional Association of Realtors were unable to come to agreement on terms of a new lease.
Restaurant owner Stacy Giannatos says her customers are like family.

In a statement released by Giannatos Wednesday, Giannatos said, “We appreciate your trust and we’ll do our best to continue to give you the kind of service you deserve in a different location.”
The Old Town Bistro opened at the site of the former McCrory’s Lunch Counter. In the 1960s, lunch counter made national headlines after students at Friendship College staged a sit-in at the restaurant, which was then a whites-only lunch counter.
Those students, later known as the “Friendship Nine,” demanded to go to jail to prove a point. The event is regarded as one of many influential civil rights protests in the 1960s.
“Thank you all and the City of Rock Hill for their support, their trust and the [affect] [they have had] on us,” Giannatos said. A new location for the Bistro is expected in the coming months.
The Bistro will close down following Easter dinner Sunday night.
