Lancaster city employee shoots, kills herself at Waste water plant

Authorities in Lancaster say they discovered the body of a city employee Tuesday afternoon at a city-owned waste water treatment plant.

Police say just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the Lockwood Lane facility in reference to a shooting.

The city employee, who WRHI will not identify, was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside her vehicle.

She was transported to Springs Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead by an attending physician.

Lancaster Police Capt. Scott Grant said the employee was not a department head or upper level public official.
