Family Trust CEO: We’re slowly adapting to ‘a new normal’

With plans to build a new corporate headquarters in Rock Hill’s new Knowledge Park, Family Trust Federal Credit Union CEO Lee Gardner says the institution is in sound financial shape following several volatile years in the financial industry.

Gardner said Tuesday before the organization’s annual meeting that despite four years of economic strife, Family Trust was prepared to weather the financial storm.

Gardner says in 2013, institutions like Family Trust must operate what in what he describes as a “new normal.”

Meanwhile, plans for a new corporate headquarters in Rock Hill’s textile corridor continue to take shape, with work on the new facility coming as early as next year.

Family Trust first opened across from what was once the Rock Hill Bleachery directly across White Street.

Now, with plans to redevelop that entire area, Gardner says Family Trust needs to join the redevelopment efforts with the relocated corporate headquarters.
