The leader of a Rock Hill-based bike gang will spend nearly the next two decades in prison, while his wife will spend seven years on drug trafficking charges.
Dan Bifield, better known as Diamond Dan, will spend the next 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to racketeering charges.
Both were sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Columbia.
19 members of the gang were arrested in early June 2012 after local, state and federal authorities shut down the Hells Angels’ Rock Hell City Nomad Chapter, seizing drugs and weapons from a home off U.S. 21 in southern York County.
“The Court found that Bifield served as one of the leaders of a wide raging criminal enterprise that dealt in methamphetamine, cocaine, and other drugs, trafficked in a wide array of firearms,” said U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Jay Richardson.
Authorities also said Bifield, “committed arson of a nightclub, laundered tens of thousands of dollars of cash, and participated in an armed robbery scheme.”
Three other members of the gang, Mark Baker, Favid Oiler and Bruce Lon, are set to appear before a judge to be sentenced June 19.
