Tim McGraw Still Has Work to Do

Tim McGraw knew from an early age that he wanted to be a country music artist. His dream of stardom is only one of the factors that have drove him to push to be the best he can be over the years.

“Anybody that tells you they want to be an artist, they wanna be a successful artist,” Tim said. “It’s sort of a two-lane road that you run down. On one hand, you wanna be the biggest artist there ever was and you have that dream of being bigger than anybody. And on the other hand, you just wanna make a living at it. Those two things push you all the way along ‘cause if you can make a living at it, you’ll make a living at it, but if you can be the biggest artist out there, you’ll wanna be the biggest artist out there and then you hope you land somewhere in the middle.”

While most people would say Tim has achieved both goals, he disagrees. “I moved to Nashville and wanted my music to do everything it could do,” he said. “And on one road it’s done more than I ever thought it could do and on the other road, I’m still climbing and think there’s a lot more I can do.”

Tim’s latest single, “Highway Don’t Care,” featuring Taylor Swift with Keith Urban on guitar, is at No. 1 on the country charts this week.
