State Troopers have charged a Rock Hill woman after she came to an abrupt stop on Interstate 77 Monday morning, causing a four-car collision.
At 9:02 a.m. Monday, a trooper clocked LaQuisha Colvin, 25, speeding at 91 miles per hour heading north on I-77.
Lance Corporal Billy Elder of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the trooper signaled Colvin to pull over, but instead of pulling over in the far right hand shoulder of the highway, Colvin came to a complete stop in the far left hand lane of the interstate.
Elder said four three collided with the back of Colvin’s 2000 Volkswagen, including a 17-year-old female. She was treated for non life-threatening injuries at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.
The drivers of the two other vehicles who collided into the teenager’s car were not injured.
Elder said Colvin has since been charged with Speeding and for stopping illegally in a roadway. Colvin was treated at Piedmont Medical Center.
The trooper was not injured.
