Florida Georgia Line’s career has taken off in a big way over the last year. They admit that it may seem fast to some people, but Brian Kelley wants people to remember they were working on their careers long before “Cruise” put them in the top spot at country radio.

“We worked a lot of different jobs, played a lot of different places that we were like, ‘Why are we even here? Nobody’s here,’” Brian said. “Just some weird gigs.”

Looking back at those gigs and comparing them to where they are now is a surreal feeling for the duo. “We just started writing songs on the back of Tyler’s tailgate and I don’t think you ever set out to write a hit song,” Brian said. “You wanna write a great song and hope somebody likes it; your friends like it and your fans like it.”

The duo’s “Cruise” just set the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart. Their current single, “’Round  Here,” is quickly climbing the charts.
