There’s something ‘bout Kip Moore that country fans have come to love. Introducing: Kip Moore premieres Sunday, September 1 at 11:30/10:30c and also airs Wednesday, September 4 at 8/7c. It gives fans an intimate glimpse into Kip’s life and career with Kip, his manager, producer and best friend all weighing in on the journey that took Kip from an unemployed surfer in Hawaii to a platinum-selling country star with three consecutive No. 1 hits from his debut album, Up All Night.
“People ask who I am as an artist, who I am as a person,” Kip said. “I don’t ever want to tell them who I am; you can find that out in the music.” He credits his late father for his love of music and songwriting, remembering fishing trips while listening to Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger.

“All that time – really without me knowing it – listening to those records, fishing and all that stuff soaking in me shaped me not only as a person but as a writer,” he said. After graduating from college, Kip spent time playing at bars along the beach until his love of surfing found him and his best friend buying one way plane tickets to Hawaii.
“It was out there that I realized I was not going to be happy in life doing anything other than music,” Kip said. A short time later, he moved to Nashville to pursue his musical dreams.
Filmed over the course of six months by his best friend, the special will include personal videos and photographs of Kip from his surfing days as well as performance and backstage video from recent tour dates. Most of the interview takes place along the South Carolina coastline, but Kip also gives a rare look inside the single room he rents in Nashville as he works on his second album.
“I never set out to write this or write that like I used to,” he said. “Now write when I feel inspired. You can’t live your life trying to please people. You be courteous and you be respectful but you’ve got to do things in the way that you want to do them.”
