As reported in The Tennessean, Billy Currington pleaded no contest last Friday in a Savannah, Ga. courthouse regarding his charge from five months ago of abuse of an elderly person. He was sentenced to five years of probation and a $1,000 fine.

Billy was arrested in April after 70-year-old tour boat captain Charles Harvey Ferrelle and two of his passengers called police to report their encounter with him after they cruised by his home. They told police Billy jumped in his own boat with a camera and started following them.

In addition to probation and the fine, Billy was ordered to undergo anger-management counseling and have no contact with the boat captain. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop their charge of making terroristic threats.
