The Americana Music Association’s Festival and Conference [2] held their 12th Annual Honors & Awards Show [3]  at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium [4] on September 18 honoring musicians from the Americana genre. Hosted by Jim Lauderdale [5] and featuring a house band led by Buddy Miller [6], more than half of the night’s awards went to either Emmylou Harris [7] and Rodney Crowell [8] or Shovels & Rope, reports The Tennessean [9].

Although Emmylou and Rodney have been working together for decades, Old Yellow Moon is their first album as a duo. “[It] means that we’re still able to do what we started doing, and I think better,” Rodney told The Tennessean. “We’re still standing.”

The night featured more than a dozen musical performances. Dr. John both performed and was honored with a lifetime achievement award. The Grateful Dead’s Robert Hunter, guitarist Duane Eddy, Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Famer Stephen Stills, Old Crow Medicine Show [10] and Hank Williams, Sr [11]., whose granddaughter Holly Williams [12] performed in tribute to him, were also honored with special awards.
