RHEDC recommends Delaware developer for Knowledge Park project

The Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation voted Monday to recommend Delaware-based Sora-Phelps be the lead developer for the proposed Knowledge Park between downtown and Winthrop University.

Andy Shene, who chairs the Knowledge Park Leadership Group,says Sora-Phelps was chosen for its experience.  However, Shene says that’s not the only reason it was selected.

The RHEDC also recommended approval of a memorandum of understanding that executive director Stephen Turner says calls for binding master development agreements to be completed by the end of January.

The Rock Hill City Council will vote Monday on the RHEDC’s  recommendations.

The Knowledge Park will be home to high-technology businesses and knowledge economy employers.
