Cassadee Pope’s debut album, Frame by Frame, is available now. When she went to work on the project, which includes her debut single “Wasting All These Tears,” she had one rule for herself.

“I decided that I’m gonna be an open book and all the songs that I write, they’re gonna come from a really special place,” she said. “All the songs that I take from outside writers have to be something that I’ve gone through or that I really love and I wish I wrote. So it’s all close to the heart, but I feel like I’d be gypping everyone if I didn’t share my deepest, darkest secrets with everybody.”

She knew if she didn’t take that approach she’d regret it. She chose to name the album Frame by Frame to reflect the project’s material.

“Every song is so vivid,” she said. “It paints such a picture, and you’re flipping through, and you’re listening to the lyrics, and it tells such a crazy story. They’re moments captured in time, and it does tell such an intricate story so I felt like each song was in a little frame like a picture.”

Frame by Frame is available as a standard version with 11 songs, or a deluxe version with two bonus songs.
