Chris Young has upheld the promise he made at his 2012 fan club party to raise funds for Stars For Stripes, which provides celebrity entertainment for our troops stationed overseas. He closed out the campaign, which raised $35,000, with a sold-out show on September 30 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

“Chris has been a wonderful addition to the SFS Board of Directors,” Judy Seale, President of Judy Seale International and Stars For Stripes, said. “As someone who has been overseas to entertain troops in a combat zone, he realizes how important celebrity visits are to the morale of our military stationed abroad. He has been an amazing ‘Ambassdor’ for Stars For Stripes and a tireless supporter of our military men and women.”

The money raised from Chris’ campaign has already aided 2012-2013 celebrity tours to the Pacific Rim, Europe and Afghanistan. Chris became involved with Stars For Stripes in 2009 when he toured military bases in Iraq and Kuwait with Craig Morgan. The trip was documented for a Great American Country special, Stars For Stripes – Wounded Warriors Return.

Chris became a member of the Stars For Stripes Board of Directors in 2010 and went on his second overseas tour to Iraq and Kuwait through the program in 2011. Donations to Stars For Stripes can still be made at www.starsforstripes.com.
