The Grand Ole Opry teamed up with Women Rock For The Cure for its fifth annual “Opry Goes Pink” show on October 22 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. LeAnn Rimes was on hand to flip the switch on the Opry’s signature barn backdrop, turning it pink for the night as artists performed in support of breast cancer awareness.
The show included the Opry debuts of Mandisa, whose current single and video “Overcomer” highlights survivors and fighters of cancer, and Natalie Grant. Amy Grant , Lorrie Morgan , Pam Tillis and Jeannie Seely also performed. Additionally, Women Rock For The Cure honored Jessi Pruett as the honorary young survivor. The evening also included activities recognizing breast cancer survivors, with $5 from every ticket sold given to Women Rock For The Cure.
Opry performances are held every weekend of the year, and the Tuesday Night Opry continues through December 10. To plan an Opry visit, call (800) SEE-OPRY or visit opry.com
