Taylor Swift has been named the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s 2013 Songwriter/Artist of the Year. This will mark the sixth time Taylor has won the award, surpassing five-time winners Vince Gill and Alan Jackson, to be the most honored artist in the award’s history. She remains the youngest artist to ever receive the award.

The Songwriter/Artist of the Year Award recognizes the “most prolific and productive Nashville writers who achieved Top 30 singles during the past year.” Taylor created and placed 14 Top 30 songs on the charts from July 2013 through June 2013. Her RED album has sold more than six million copies to date and she has sold more than 26 million albums and 75 million song downloads throughout her career.

Additionally, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will officially open the Taylor Swift Education Center on October 12. Taylor’s $4 million gift to endow the center is the largest individual artist gift in the Museum’s history. Taylor has a long history with the Museum. Signed her record contract at the Museum as a teenager and gave her first public performances on the building’s plaza in addition to donating several items to the museum.

The Taylor Swift Education Center will be two floors and feature three classrooms, a learning lab and a state-of-the-art children’s exhibit gallery, increasing the Museum’s educational capacity seven-fold. The classroom spaces will be adjacent to a visible design studio, allowing students to observe museum curators at work. The children’s gallery will be a dedicated space for children filled with hands-on, interactive exhibits.

Taylor’s six NSAI Awards will be on special display in the foyer of the Taylor Swift Education Center. She just wrapped the U.S. leg of her RED Tour and will now take the tour to Australia and New Zealand later this year. She will perform five shows at London’s O2 Arena in February 2014. Her latest single, “Red,” is at radio now.
