Congratulations to The Band Perry‘s Kimberly Perry, who got engaged to Toronto Blue Jays starting catcher J.P. Arencibia last night at her parents’ home in Greeneville, Tenn.

Kimberly revealed the news first to The Tennessean and told the paper all about her dream proposal, which took place under an oak tree on the property. She told the paper that she’d always hoped to be proposed to under that tree.

When she walked outside and saw her boyfriend standing under the tree, Kimberly said, “I saw that and I thought, ‘This is really happening.’”

Kimberly’s mom sent her back inside to put on her favorite pink dress. Next to it was a letter from her family and a bracelet that her grandfather had once given her grandmother.

“I got to read the letter and get dressed and put on my grandfather’s bracelet,” she told The Tennessean. “I came back out on the front porch and he was standing there and he got down on one knee. It was perfect.”

Kimberly doesn’t know how big her emerald-cut engagement ring is but estimates it’s around 3 carats. She says she and J.P. had it designed by a friend in Chicago. The happy couple plans to tie the knot next summer.
