Jennifer Nettles will release her solo debut album, That Girl,on January 14.  The album was produced by Rick Rubin and recorded at the famous Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California. Jennifer wrote or co-wrote 10 of the album’s 11 tracks.

“I started writing this album three years ago,” she said. “I put no conscious guides or governors on the creation of this album other than to write songs that I want to sing. Working with Rick Rubin was a dream come true and the result is an album that plays to my roots – country, ’70s radio, gospel and singer songwriter.”

The album includes a cover of Bob Seger’s “Like A Rock” which she was drawn to as she is the same age as he was when he wrote the song and wanted to interpret it from a female perspective. Among her songwriting collaborators on the project are Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet, Sara Bareilles, Butch Walker and Richard Marx.

The album’s lead single, “That Girl,” is climbing the charts at country radi0. She will launch her That Girl headlining tour on February 12, 2014. Watch Jennifer’s “That Girl” music video >>
