Luke Bryan will be a familiar face during tonight’s CMA Awards. He will kick off the show with a rousing performance of his recent No. 1 hit “That’s My Kind of Night” and later return to the stage to debut his new single, “Drink a Beer.” He is dedicating the performance to his brother Chris and sister Kelly, whom he lost in 1996 and 2007, respectively.

“This is the coolest sad song ever,” Luke said. “It holds a special place in my heart and I am honored the writers allowed me to record it.”

The song was co-written by Jim Beavers and Chris Stapleton. Chris sang background vocals on the album and will perform with Luke on the CMA Awards.

“It’s always amazing to get the news that one of your songs is going to be cut by another artist, and I’ve been really lucky to have some success with that over the years,” Chris said. “Luke asked me to sing on the track for his new album, and we’ve performed it live together, but I’m especially honored he asked me to stand up there with him on the CMAs on Wednesday night.”

The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on ABC at 8/7c. Luke is nominated for three CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for “The Only Way I Know” with Jason Aldean and Eric Church.
