In honor of Veterans Day, Rodney Atkins paid a special visit to the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System’s Nashville Campus VA Hospital. The visit was a part of Musicians On Call’s weekly Bedside Performance Programs to visit with patients who have served in the U.S. military. Rodney went room to room to personally perform and offer his thanks.

“Any time I can support our military heroes, I’m honored to be involved,” he said. “Music is a powerful healer, and I’m grateful that programs like Musicians On Call provide these opportunities for artists to connect through music.”

Musicians On Call works to bring the healing power of music to patients’ bedsides. To date, volunteers have played for over 400,000 people in healthcare facilities nationwide. The Nashville branch alone has visited nearly 60,000 patients in Middle Tennessee and is celebrating its sixth anniversary this week with an intimate concert by Kelly Clarkson.

Rodney visited with veterans after marrying Rose Falcon in an intimate beachside ceremony on Sunday, November 10 on Captiva Island, Fla. His latest single, “Doin’ It Right,” is at radio now.
