Blake Shelton also had a good night, walking away with four guitars, including Album of the Year for Based On A True Story… and Single of the Year: Male, Great American Country Music Video of the Year and Music Video of the Year: Male for “Sure Be Cool If You Did.” Blake was filming a live episode of The Voice in Los Angeles, but accepted his awards via video.

Luke Bryan was named Artist of the Year for the second year running as well as Artist of the Year: Male. He also picked up the guitar for Touring Artist of the Year. His three wins bring his grand total of ACA guitars to 12, the most wins for a male artist. Carrie Underwood’s win in Music Video of the Year: Female for “Blown Away” also puts her at 12 career ACA wins, the most for a female artist.

The night kicked off with Lady Antebellum performing their latest single, “Compass.” A number of country’s rising stars, including Justin Moore, Randy Houser and Thomas Rhett had their first opportunity to perform during an awards show. LeAnn Rimes, however, gave what would be the performance of the night, singing an emotional medley of Patsy Cline tunes in honor of the country great, who died 50 years ago.
