Teen cleared in Indian Land stabbing death ruled ‘justifiable homicide’

Prosecutors in Lancaster County have cleared a teenager in the February 16 stabbing death of his mother’s live-in boyfriend.

That morning, Jimmie Adams, 47 was in a fight with his girlfriend in their Indian Land home. Adams was found laying on the floor and later died on the way to the hospital.

Wednesday afternoon, the solicitor’s office cleared the teenager who investigators say fatally stabbed him. Sheriff Barry Faile said the 17-year-old was acting in his own self defense and in defense of his mother.

The teenager did sustain injuries of his own during the fight.
