Steel Magnolia, Katie Armiger on Top 20

Two of country music’s strongest developing acts — Steel Magnolia and Katie Armiger — both make appearances this weekend with host Nan Kelley on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown. Katie’s prepping the Oct 5 release of her third album, Confessions Of A Nice Girl, and she enlisted GACtv.com for a sweepstakes that brings one winner to Nashville for the album release party Sept. 29. The album includes Katie’s song “Leaving Home,” which is currently at No. 12 on the countdown. And the winner has been picked: 29-year-old Kelly Johnson from Columbus, Ohio. In the meantime, Steel Magnolia still has plenty of reason to be in celebration mode. The act is nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year in the 44th annual Country Music Association awards, pitted against Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Sugarland and Joey + Rory.
