2010 Rewind: No. 3 — Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Country’s “It” Couple

Next year is a decade since Blake Shelton released his first album, and there were years of grinding it out in Nashville even before that moment arrived. This year was seven years since Miranda Lambert first popped on the national radar in the TV contest “Nashville Star,” and while she was able to work as a developing and mid-level artist with her first two albums, it seemed as if she might never meld her critical acclaim with a similar level of commercial appreciation. GAC’s 62,000 video plays of 2010 are winding down to a final 50. Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts, Laura Bell Bundy and Luke Bryan are among the stars who join Nan Kelley for GAC’s Top 50 Videos Of 2010, a five-part countdown that kicks off Monday, Dec. 27, and comes to its conclusion Friday, Dec. 31. Josh Turner, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Easton Corbin, The Band Perry, Steel Magnolia, Uncle Kracker, comedian Jeff Dunham and GAC’s Storme Warren are also part of the countdown, derived from votes by GAC viewers. Miranda Lambert Fights Pressure on Album No. 4

Miranda Lambert’s third album, Revolution, launched her from a highly regarded country artist to one of the top acts in the business. It went platinum, won Album of the Year from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, and spawned her first two No. 1 singles.
